For 2027/28, the standard Bocconi Online Test has 50 multiple-choice questions in 75 minutes: 24 Mathematics, 11 Reading comprehension, 6 Numerical reasoning, and 9 Critical thinking. Questions are mixed within one overall timer. Bocconi also offers a different Law test; this guide and the UniExamFocus Bocconi product cover the standard test, not that separate format.
Standard Bocconi test structure
The official 2027/28 test page gives this distribution:

The questions are mixed by topic and difficulty. There is no published fixed section order or separate subject timer, so preparation should include transitions between unlike question types. The whole test lasts 75 minutes, an average of 90 seconds per question, but Bocconi explicitly notes that the time required can vary by item.
Standard test or Bocconi Online Test – Law?
Bocconi publishes two distinct test types:

The Law test also has 50 questions and lasts 75 minutes, but its subject distribution differs. Do not choose by language or assume that a shared duration means shared preparation. Choose according to the programmes you may include in your application.
Attempts, language and spacing rules
For each test type, Bocconi permits up to four attempts during the 2027/28 testing period. The standard and Law limits are stated per test type. Multiple attempts cannot be taken on the same day or on consecutive days.
When purchasing an attempt, you select:
- the test type;
- Italian or English as the test language;
- an available date for your applicant category;
- a payment method for the €60 attempt fee.
The test language is independent of the teaching language of your desired programme. Selecting an English-taught degree does not, by itself, force you to take the test in English.
Who is eligible to take the 2027/28 test?
The test page states that only applicants who already hold an upper-secondary diploma or will obtain it in the 2026/27 school year may take this cycle’s test. A test taken without meeting that condition may be invalidated, with consequences for later selection rounds.
The same page distinguishes Italian and international applicants because their booking windows and selection rounds differ. Check your official applicant category before purchasing an attempt; do not infer it only from citizenship or the language of your school.
What happens during and after the test?
The test runs on an external webtesting platform with audio and video recording. Bocconi requires applicants to review its current Instructions and Rules of Conduct, verify the technical requirements, prepare a suitable room, complete identification and environmental scans, and launch a lockdown browser.
The score appears immediately at the end. Bocconi says the downloadable Test Score Report becomes available in the personal area within approximately 48 hours and includes:
- total and subject-area scores;
- correct, wrong, and unanswered counts;
- the attempt’s identifying reference number.
For 2027/28, prior-year score reports and scores from the free online simulation cannot be used. Taking a test also does not submit an admission application automatically.
How the test enters the admission ranking
For the current undergraduate and Law admissions cycle, Bocconi states that the selection test contributes 55% and the third-last plus second-last year GPA contributes 45%. Recommendation letters, motivation letters, CVs, and résumés are not part of this assessment.
A valid test result is therefore necessary but not sufficient. The scoring guide explains the 17-point floor and penalties without treating them as an admission cutoff.
Pre-booking decision check
Before paying for an attempt:
- List every programme you may select.
- Decide whether you need the standard test, the Law test, or may need both.
- Confirm your applicant category and eligible selection session.
- Choose the test language in which you can reason most accurately.
- Check that your planned test date leaves time for the score report and application.
- Read the current technical and conduct rules on Bocconi’s page.
